Screen Printed Valentine Class
Tuesdays, February 5th and 12th, 6:00-9:00pm

In this two-session class, you will use the “block out” method to create an image on your screen to print a set of 5 x 7 Valentines. You will learn how to prepare the screen, register two colors and trouble-shoot to get great results.
During the first session, tape the screens to prepare for image making and print one color. At the second session learn about two-color registration, how to tape the screen and print your image onto a 5 x 7 card, we will create 5 cards per student, or more if time allows. Students will also learn how to clean up and reclaim the screens. A syllabus with resources for supplies and equipment will be provided.

Intro to Screen Print Valentine Workshop

In this one day workshop students will use one of our prepared screens for printing a two-color image onto paper. Students will learn how to prepare a screen, register the image, and screen print using two colors. The image will be printed onto an 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper size and we plan to create an edition of 5 prints per student. If time allows students will have time to create additional prints. Students will also learn how to clean up and reclaim the screens properly. Students are encouraged to bring fabric or other materials for printing using one color of their chosen design as well. A syllabus with resources for supplies and equipment will be provided.

Screen Print Essentials
Tuesdays, February 26 - March 26, 6:00-9:00pm
Instructor: Stephen Wiggins

In this introductory class students will learn how to coat their screens with emulsion, create an image ready to screen print, register the image and print it on paper and fabric to create their own limited edition 2 color screen print. The format will be 8 ½ x 11 image on your screen to make a print onto 10 ½ x 13 paper. Students will learn how to do screen printing from start to finish. Paper and ink are provided. Students are highly encouraged to bring their own garments to print on. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
