Screen print process at home

So here is my screen print process at home. Scroll right to find out how it works. 1) I take a screen and coat it with emulsion. Once it is dry you have to store in a dark room or closet. With @speedball_art products you have to use a dark colored blanket or sheet and a photo flood bulb here is my setup. 2) this is how you expose the screen with bright light. 3) after eight minutes the screen is ready to be washed out with water. I use a garden hose and my thumb. 4). Once the screen is completely dry you tape the edges front and back. 5) use speed ball fabric ink. On the can it has a t-shirt on it. You can use fabric ink on paper but you won't get good results with graphic ink on tshirts. 6) lift up the screen and do your flood stroke so the ink won't dry in the screen. 7) I test print onto vellum or mylar and then dry the ink on the mylar with a blow drier. Tape the mylar to the bottom of the print surface so you can flip the mylar over so you can proof where you are going to print before you print. 8) this pic shows that 9) now you ready to print 10) pull or push the squeegee to get the ink onto paper or tshirts. #print #artistsofinstagram #get_imprinted #craftsposure #fineart #printmakersofinstagram #printmaking #artwork #press #worksonpaper #imprinted_vids #handmade #studio #instaart #printlife #linogravure #blockprint #speedballart #maker #justprintmaking #linocut
