Vote for Abigail Carter - Lexington, KY in the 2013 National Mobility Awareness Month Local Hero contest!

Posting on behalf on Abigail Carter:

I have an exceptional opportunity to win a new van through Mobility Awareness Month. Here is the catch: I can only win this van if YOU VOTE EVERY DAY PER IP ADDRESS and you share it with every friend, family member, or non-friend you know and encourage them to vote. And WE CAN VOTE EVERY DAY UNTIL MAY 10TH! It literally takes 30 second to vote!

I have been in a wheelchair for close to 30 years. I will never forget the first time Idrove a car. It was a Honda Civic with hand controls. I loved that Honda. It soon became beat up on the passenger side from my wheelchair as I would take it apart and put it in the backseat. It was difficult, but a joy to have the freedom of driving. We all have obstacles to the things that bring freedom and oftentimes we are blessed and the feeling of freedom is even better than we hoped. That feeling grew when I bought my Kia Sedona minivan with a ramp! Oh, the JOY of going to the store for just one item! (which was difficult to do when I had a car.) However shortly after I bought the van, it started having troubles and I have continued to have troubles with it. This van has been in the shop more times than I could tell you. Just last week, it was in the shop for three weeks. And while I am thankful to have a van, it is an added stress to my life as well.

Winning this van would mean more to me than I could express. It would be a blessing of God to me. Accessible vans are anywhere from $35,000-$70,000, which is alot of money. Because of your support I already have 2,100 votes (Yay!)!!! Thank you. I have been blown away and humbled by the love I have received from you! I am blessed to know you and be loved by so many! I am creating this event page to streamline and hopefully make voting easier. Please encourage and invite your friends to join this page and help spread the word.
